Research Article Review - Use the Internet to Find the Facts About a Topic

Research Article Review - Use the Internet to Find the Facts About a TopicWhen writing a research article, the main thing you need to remember is that all of your information must be verified. There are many items of information on the internet that are dubious or untrue. A good research article review will show you how to confirm the facts in your own research. We have all heard of this saying, 'Information is money.' Without accurate information on a subject, the only thing that you can do is to sell something or try to get people to buy. This is why you must always verify the information you have for your articles and your website. In any online research, you should try to find out if what you are dealing with is true. We are not telling you to stop doing your own research, but we are saying that it is just as important to do your own research. It is only by researching the information that you will be able to determine if it is true or not. Otherwise, you might be wasting time, ene rgy, and even money searching for information that is wrong. You can also save a lot of time by hiring a professional to check your information. By doing this, you can get an accurate conclusion about the information that you have found. A professional would be better than you because they are more knowledgeable. To start your research article review, you will need to gather information about the topic that you are writing about. Once you have done this, you should decide how much detail you want to write about. If you have extensive information to write about, you will need to do a lot of research before you can start writing. To help you get started with your research article review, you should learn to use the internet. Most people have their own websites and blogs, but do not know how to utilize them effectively. They have done all the work but have no idea how to make use of it. Use the internet to help you search the web for information about the topic that you are writing about. Another thing you should remember about writing a research article review is that you should include your name in the article. Not only will this help the search engines find your information, but it will also help you build credibility and a reputation. This is important because if you give you personal information, then other people may look at your site and think that you have something to hide.Remember, when writing a research article review, it is not about providing your own opinion. Mental Disorder And Disorder ( Adhd ) / Hd, Oppositional...

Jesse Raymond PRACTICE CASE STUDY #1- Eddie AD/HD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder or Conduct Disorder A. Step-by-step process: 1. Is the problem symptom for real? The problems that were described by Eddie’s family, teacher and therapist provide us with enough information that his problem symptoms are, in fact, real. 2. Rule out substance etiology (drug abuse, medication, toxin exposure)—There is no indication of any substance etiology that would cause these behaviors in the child. 3. Rule out a disorder due to a general medical condition—Some general medical conditions that could cause Eddie to behave like could be a traumatic brain injury, iron deficiency or specific learning disorders. However, these can be ruled out. 4.†¦show more content†¦In order for someone to be diagnosed with Conduct Disorder, they must meet all the criteria A through C, and Criteria A clearly states that a client must have experience 3 of the 15 statements listed in the DSM-V, within the last 12 months. The behaviors include aggression toward people and animals, destruction of property, deceitfulness and stealing, and other serious violations of rules. Eddies actions do not fit into this criteria since he is not aggressive or bullying classmates or friends, and although his parents have stated that he â€Å"demolished† the kitchen or living room, it is clear he is not violent or prone to lying and stealing. The only blatant disregard for rules that could be considered dangerous was when Eddie ran out of the house and wandered into the street until someone returned him home. However, that occurred when he was four years old, not in the last 12 months. Eddie does not fit into Criteria A due to a lack of viole nt nature. Criteria B states that the individuals behaviors cause a significant impairment in social, academic or occupational functioning, however, since Eddies behaviors do not fit into Criteria A, this does not apply. Lastly, Criteria C states that if the client is 18 years or older, they do not meet the criteria for antisocial personality disorder, which also doesn’t apply to Eddie. It is clear after looking through all Criteria A-C, Eddie does not have conduct disorder.

With the rise in technology and the fluency in the work, there is a provision to work via teleworking system which provides the location to be settled under great advancement and it is all set to lead to different technology methods which constitute and transit the flow depending upon the business staff. There are certain communication (Corpuz, 2011) flow which enables and try to automatically access all the work and different aspects according to the employee work. The methods are needed to be outsourced and functioned as per the programming structure. The telework management mainly focused on the agreement of different parties, trying to employee and help in designing the different locations. The communication via this method is easier and helps in the sustainable development, helping the client to completely manage t he system with the reduction in the cost to permit and track all the calls in time. If the person has to manage and allow the different locations by sitting at home, then there will be communication track record and the workers will be able to host via different web services. The networking system and the dissocialising is mainly done which can be transferred overseas, thereby, improving the performance of the employee, (Bello Ashaolu, 2010) helping to client to communicate with the consulted people, irrespective of the time. The ICT skills and the education work try to identify all the defieicency and the issues which can provide the work and the initiative from the different company, thereby, instigating how the different people have been able to spot on the attention and the arrangements. The information technology try to foster to all the expertise in the capability which require to broadcast and equip oneself with the areas engrossed in engineering. Ones ability to leverage an d try to relation, competing with the technicalities, there is a need to effectively participate and range towards a higher trending economy which will surely increment the productivity as well as the competency. (Nishina, 2010) Summary With the eruption of medium operating, there is a necessity to spot and analyse the capabilities of the government that are ready to track higher interconnection and leverage for employment. The people try to follow the concept of teleworking where they can benefit and are able to enjoy the facilities which will help in usage of all the data via different voice service or the usage of fax system. The installation to a better connection will help in saving the cost factor which is led to consist and manage the different cost as per the offices, leading to adaptation in the flexibility in the strategy to work and produce. The arrangements have been settled up to expeditiously and beautifully gain strategic data which may inhibit the requirements and therefore the future demands. The benefits of the retention of skill is according to the working system which tries to foster some time to the working environment, thereby, motivating and help them to work independently and satisfy the sust ainable development feature. Comparing, Indian are being (Valmohammandi, 2012) imposed on the public are some of the issues which can generally lead to and which could facilitate a more meaningful comparison. The overall adjustment and satisfaction, enabling the benefits to the people which can help in a flexible working environment and more productive approach in the team work. The communication is mainly through socket testing who are more on the rise of facing and coming up with the strikes of union along with the weather at its extreme and the disaster management. By sitting and working at home, the people are generally able to have quality time with their families, who would otherwise, always have to hear some arguments of the head of the family. This will surely lead to an achievement in reducing the global greenhouse gas emission in the country. The legislation and the work done to debate on the marketing decision which will directly influence the marketing schedule and contr ol all the subordinate work which will (de Jong Mante Meijer, 2012) control the employment and the authoritative work. The teleworking leads to a sustainable development as there is no issues with the transport and less vehicles on road will surely bring a great impact on the employment and the environment. Teleworking and its challenges Telework is taken into account to be a much better thanks to work to level wherever one doesnt must face problems concerning security or sharing data which might harness the main points and cipher with the virtualisation techniques. The people have to face issues and various challenges (White et al., 2010) while working with the tele-communication system. Certain challenges are there while working with this. There are generally people who have difficulty in communicating with the people in the office as they are not acquainted with them and so their posts are also not defined too. The late time gossips and exchanging knowledge and information is generally inhibited when such things happen.(Girard Pescatore, 2009). This would generally bring a great setback to the advancement in the development of career. Firstly the people wont be able to communicate and come up with their innovative ideas which will defiantly ruin their chance to switch and be recommended to other companies where they are actually deserving to work in. Certain have to face that there are low relationship management as employees have to directly commute with the clients and not with the other employees who will have difficulty in seeking and building a network connection to be productive and be recognised among many. There is a schedule system which will be overwhelming and the colleagues will have experience less freedom, creating an ineffective environment and schedule in the office which will be delineated and declined by the work and schedule. The cultural loss and the events which are under the pack to stay vigilant, involving in the cultural which will not be in communication with the others. One should try to connect and try to momentarily find a celebrating success moment in the office while would not be possible sitting at home. There are certain benefits of communication at office irrespective of realizing the fun at home. (Audrey Johnson, 2010). The cost and the expertise in training along with setting up a good infrastructure and technological approach, it is important to be present in the office which can bring in confidence in working of a particular person. With the collaboration and to achieve the process of security, there are organisations which would lead to growth in the technological world which will generally try to socialise with the different people, sharing the ideas and the working autonomy for a better productivity and growth. The practices which are enabled in the management process and the framework needs to settled as legalised so that the information assortment could bear to work out a much better commonplace of connection and motivating to provide labour to facilitate the capability and capability to look at and statement all the gaps. (Raiborn Butler, 2009). The trust to technically manage all the equipment in the company, securing process and the cost which will otherwise be gaining higher margin and approach to satisfy the morale to work. Supposedly, the profit earned from the commute might take issue or appreciably modification the worth of fuel however it wont be ready to have an effect on the prices which can be stagnant with time. As the technology are rising, there is a reduction in the equipment which will have improvement in the speed and the importance of work which is help in the past. There are a variety of communications which will be (Bricout et al., 2009) linked to the systems and move towards a communication and introduction for forecasting and networking towards a larger range. Another limitation that is there concerning the less information gift with the workers. Therell be less of innovation and there wont be a higher indulgence of the information which may ultimately be an excellent set back to the employment things. The potential to challenge the technologies and trying to match up with the charges can sometimes lead to diffusion and penalising, thereby, reducing the cost of the teleworking across t he network system. With the potential to avoid wasting, the operating are even teleworking within the university that may be a nice success, resulting in an improved property development approach. This can bound enhance the means of learning in time and therefore the individuals are going to be a lot of alert, giving time to their family and friends too. The culture and the organisation has come up (James, 2011) to set such factors which are able to adapt all the management and controlling power to have firm extent to traditionally try to operate and provide a better interest in the field of teleworking. Analysis and recommendation: Teleworking The capital wants have to be compelled to be managed underneath the knowledge that provide higher designing and a chance to develop work force for a more robust future. There is a necessity to achieve an additional simplified goal that is ready to enter into the educational and satisfying department and facilitate to provide higher conditions to the surroundings. As per the equipment requirement (Olvera-Lobo et al., 2009) and the cost of teleworking, there is a requirement to manage the cost and the productivity as per the employees. A lot of gain needs to be supported which would result in gaining and less interruptions in work. One should try to increase the work limits with the better concentration on the work which will eliminate the wastage of time and trying to commute to a larger distance. The staff of recruitment should try to introduce the facility of teleworking which will help them retain in work for a longer time as new employees generally prefer to stay at home and work a s they find it attractive and cost saving. There are jobs which have been employed and enabled as per the capability of the workers who are willing to work in any field which will display their potential like in American Express. The ruralisation will help in developing and grabbing more opportunities to engross different opportunities as per different technology, business and the educational process. The government criteria has always been in support to teleworking and they prefer building tele-cottages which will even more establish a better development in the economic range. The resources have the potential to manage with all the consultation that might assure a more robust method of designing with the ICT work force government. Hence, the folks ought to try and telecommute after they feel they're ready to work from home and check out to review in line with the executive work. With the survey to realize a property development, there correct examination of the workers that special ise in decrease the impacts and attempting to focus to coordinate and interact higher web based mostly courses for the scholars within the University that can facilitate in with efficiency demonstrating the work. Sure different vary can focus additional on the way to improve the potency and traveling to induce additional work, with associate incentive to manage the instances and scale back the world greenhouse emissions. (Kossek et al., 2009) Theres a practicability that the administration has several affects and it ends up in commutation with totally different organisations relying upon the savings and therefore the workers work which can facilitate to program the problems in step with the resolution settled. The impact of teleworking is especially to deduce Associate in Nursing interpret an accessible perspective which might result in implementing higher ideal programs and an improved dynamic geographical point. The people are able to take care of their health and assure safety by working comfortably sitting at home. There is no need to run and miss the important meetings. The works at the teleworking system try to pass certain laws which are efficient to design the security and protect all the information to be lost from the machines. It is confidential only for those people (Dunn, 2009) who are actually willing to use it. The information assortment and increment within the designing force alongside the availability of labour has to be thought of as per the reviews that could lead on to impact and provision employment. The work combination and the restrictions sometimes try to bring a conflict in the management which will be difficult to handle and so there is unsatisfactory change in the management according to the review. There is a need for efficient input which will be mainly based on the approving fact and the work should bring all the tools which will control the internal conflicts of the company and the organisational team. Conclusion With the advent of the technologies, there are a lot of misusing of the same along with sustainable development of teleworking as people do not have to waste their time and transport system to travel to their office. There are equal opportunities and benefits to all the people who are holding the reputed place in the organisation. The management is never effected and the interviews are down via Skype (Al-Jaafreh Mosleh, 2011) which generally help in saving cost and income beneficial to work in such a challenging environment. The benefits are laid as soon as the problems come, they are talked and this ultimately maintains the flexibility in the working of the autonomous system also. There are people who are broadly trying to pay and get benefit out of the market of labour who have a negotiating approach to the benefits and provide all the compensation to the employed workers to contract and process the text accordingly. Certain attempts are required to be built for contracting for an outstanding figure, trying to report and spot figures which will lead to a benefit in the operational part, consequently trying to employee and increase the time of working hours as per the categorisation and the possible schedule. There is a basic rate of emission once no different worker, as compared needs to trot out the various and ranging range as per the building construction. The people try to make concern along the time of work which is important to be enforced, trying to track (Johnson, 2013) the duties and all the periodic difficulties which can complete the work as per the periodic standards and the stand-by work. There is a great proportion of the work which is mainly categorised under the provision, mainly dependent on the work and the survey, to analyse how many people support the concept of teleworking. The foremost results are that it facilitate to manage and scale back the value of energy consumption, focusing a lot of on economical use of resources. The developmen t within the system can facilitate in saving the resources to an oversized scale. The management should work on the perceptions and the practices which would help in guiding the people along with the supervision which will potentially distract all the unclear things and impose a sustainability in the development of work. Its needed to be quantified and balanced to implement an improved structural program which can facilitate in managing and conducting better quality impacts in time. The main focus should be to drive the people to bring in confidence that they will be able to handle their work without reaching the office daily in time along with giving sufficient time to their family. The groups have a distraction and the some people are efficiently able to save and make the best social contacts in their leisure time with the usage of computers and sharing information with different people. This will manage the cost of production and in case of any issues, there is a liability to ask and reach the office anytime irrespective of any prior notification. The fragmentation to increase and consume energy according to the complexity in the activity, there is a need to imply main roles which will promote and analyse the guidelines which mainly concern flexibility in the rules and regulations as per the promotional efforts. The Effects of the Industrial Revolution Essay Example

The Effects of the Industrial Revolution Essay T The Industrial Revolution began in the eighteenth century marking the transformation of economic power and productivity. Not only was there concentration on agriculture, as their main source of an economy, and started to concern themselves with commerce, trade, and exploration of new technologies. Working toward great financial success to make a profit. Even though the machinery was new the main power source was human labor. Production took place in homes and small workshops. The primary labor force was drawn specifically to the young, as the industrial revolution began in semi-normal locations. The effects of the Industrial revolution were harsh on children, and it made people feel like all they were good for was work, during this economic crisis the economic conditions were harsh. During urban domesticity conditions children were less of an economic benefit and more of an economic burden. The families and the children that had to live threw this period did not see any economic or personal gain. Many children lost their families due to an insufficient economy poverty rates in. Families were forced to make irrational decision, giving up their children to go out and work at an early childhood. Children that were orphans were often used and treated worse than other children. With long and tough workdays that consisted of twelve to fourteen hours. Before labor laws were put into place countless accidents occurred. Many companies thought that using children were the best source of workers. Children were used as cheap labor to earn their keep. With their small bodies they were able to move around the chimneys and clean them well. The machines burned lots of fuel to operate which caused an increase of pollution. The soot was constantly in their clothes and hair and it was a way of living for them. Not knowing that they were breathing this soot would cause short and long term health problems in the future. Some short-term effects consist of irritation to the eyes, nose and throat, and upper respiratory infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia. Other symptoms can include headaches, nausea, and allergic reactions. Long-term health effects can contain chronic respiratory disease, lung cancer, heart disease, and even damage to the brain, nerves, liver, or kidneys. They worked and slept in poor conditions. The children paid their way through work. Education at this time was secondary and working was traditional and customary. Some of the children’s’ parents were concerned about them growing up without getting a decent education. The Authors facts tell how the children were treated during the industrial revolution. Blake states that at a young age children were being sold out of their families and used as very cheap labor services. It was during a time of industrial management. All the kids had were their dreams of a better economy, so they could go play freely, like children should. All they had were their dreams of a better tomorrow as long as they keep the faith and believe. He also stated in the poem that they were kept shaved and was continuously covered in soot from head to toe. For the owners of these companies and others investing in the industry hiring children was a plus and helped them save money. By hiring children to work these machines cut production times in half with the newer technology. Some thought this was teaching children the importance of work. The Industrial Revolution also ushered in a golden age for America. This would be considered the golden age until to government became involved and put labor laws for children into place. These laws limited the amount of hours children of certain ages could work. Children ranging from ages nine- thirteen were only allowed to work eight hours a day. Fourteen threw eighteen could work no more than twelve hours a day. Children under nine were not allowed to work at all. Education started to become more important than working and regulations were also placed on it. Children were required to attend school for no less than two hours during the day. Not just the employers thought that hiring children were a good idea. Parents would also have their children working to help contribute to the well-being of the family. Many people did not see a difference in children working in these factories verses for many years children worked on family farms and in family cottage industries. Many people don’t see having their children working on family farms or doing chores around the house as child labor, but as in lesions that will last you for the rest of you life. Others also think that it will teach the child to value and appreciate working. Stew stated â€Å"Now that I have my own children, I realize that assigning household tasks to their children and enforcing completion was actually pretty hard for my parents. We often gave them grief about doing our chores, argued, complained quit early and tried all manner of ways to avoid our duties. I am certain that in most cases, it would have been easier for my parents to just do the job for us. Now, I am so thankful that my parents taught us to work. The ability to work is the  first step to financial freedom and independence. When I get together with my brothers and sisters we often compare notes about how kind our employers have been to us most of the time. Over the years, there have been few complaints about our work in terms of effort, faithfulness, diligence and perseverance. In today’s society child labor and laws still exist. Child labor is not mostly conducted in other countries instead of the United States unlike in the industrial revolution. The term commonly used is called sweat shops. Sweatshops are a working environment considered to be unacceptably difficult or dangerous — especially by developed countries with high st andards of living. In many third world countries child labor is an own going problem. Countries such as Africa, China, Philippines, India, and Pakistan still condone the use of child labor. Just like in the industrial revolution theses sweatshops were put into place to lower their costs and increase profits. The environments in these sweatshops are very harmful and dangerous. Major corporations such as Nike, Sean John, Tommy Hilfiger, Walt Disney Company, and The Gap have had allegations or charges brought against them for having sweatshops. Articles appear in The New York Times with title such as The Factories of Lost Children, No Winners in Child Labor, and Technology; Technology’s Toxic Trash Is Sent to poor Nations. With headlines like these shows that child labor is exist and is a problem. The child labor laws in the United States have countless statutes and rules regulating the employment of a minor. Any child that is under the age of 18 in a variety of occupations is affected by the law. In many states that average age that a child can enter the work field is sixteen. Anyone under the age of sixteen has to obtain a work permit. Anyone who is under the age of eighteen on school nights can not work after eleven o’clock. Some see it as entering your child in talent shows, beauty pageants, and even having them on reality T. V. as a form of child labor. To create a synopsis of the views of child labor is a difference in teaching your child or others children skills that may last them for a life verses using them for your personal gain or profit. The United States may say that after the industrial revolution child labor has decreased or doesn’t exist in our country. Furthermore, they are right. It has been disguised into other forms, and placed somewhere else were these laws are not present, and the economic gain is enormous for the company and the country. They and we have to look at the bigger picture it is morally wrong, the environment is unhealthy and dangerous, and we are robbing the child of its innocents and being able to enjoy childhood in general. buy custom Application Essays for Duke Fuqua essay

buy custom Application Essays for Duke Fuqua essay Throughout my life I have had two great passions, that is, economics and helping my country. It is my belief that China is one of the fastest growing economies in the world in this century. The majority of Chinas success can be attributed to growing business opportunities. Though great economic strides have been made in China, there is still a lot that needs to be done in order to propel the country to greater heights. I believe that business more so economics would be very beneficial to China at this point. I would like to study economics under the Duke Fuqua Masters of Management Studies (MMS) program, so as to gain the requisite academic foundation to start a financial consulting company in China and hopefully help the growth of the Chinese economy. My love and interest in economics began at an early age. While in high school I started my internet store which did very well. My father who was a successful businessman also inspired the passion for business in me. During summer holidays I would work at his firm helping in whatever I could. Through these experiences I was able to sharpen my business sense and gain a deeper understanding of economics and business in general. I was able to learn how companies operate and how to gauge the success of a company. I was also able to understand the dynamics of financial goods and services. It is through these experiences that I was able to develop a great passion for economics. Having witnessed the rapid economic growth of China I realized that I wanted to be part of making history. I wanted to be one of the contributors to the great advancement in Chinas economy and global position. My passion for economics deepened when I started reading renowned books such as the Wealth of Nations by Ada m Smith, Karl Marxs theory on economics, the Keynesian theory among many other economic theories. These great economists and philosophers advanced various theories on economics that made me develop great interest in the subject. I also have a passion for mathematics which is a significant part of economics. Mathematics unlike what most people believe is interesting and fun. It is interesting to solve problems using mathematical formulae, especially practical problems. I know that the Duke Fuqua MMS program is rigorous and fast paced but I believe I am up to the task. This is because I have honed my analytical and quantitative skills. This is evident from the tasks I did during my undergraduate studies at the SyracuseUniversity. While pursuing my Bachelors degree in Economics at the university, I was able to stress test portfolios and also work out the VAR (value at risk) measurements. This shows that I can be diverse and I am able to analyze various facts and present different perspectives. I also used a cleaned covariance matrix to come up with an efficient frontier. I was very passionate about both of these evaluations and evidently quantitative economics and risk management. My passion for risk management will enable me to work as a financial risk assessor for many firms in the near future. It will also enable me to offer people and companies, professional advice on risk management, especially in the long term when I open my own financial consu lting firm. I am passionate about the economics part of business because it is complex but at the same time very applicable and logical. After graduating from the Duke Fuqua Masters of Management Studies program, I intend to utilize my passion in economics and mathematics to work in the field of economic affairs. I believe that the Duke Fuqua MMS program will be instrumental for me to gain the academic foundation to launch my career as an economist and long term financial consultant. I greatly feel that given the opportunity to join the Duke Fuqua MMS program I would be able to fulfill my obligation to myself and to serve my country as a competent economist. I understand that it is very important for one to be a team player in any group projects. It is equally important to rise to the challenge of leadership in order to take on new responsibility and be accountable for certain projects as well as to showcase leadership skills. I have been involved in many team projects in my professional as well as academic life. In many occasions I have been a team player but in others I have worked as a team leader. Between June and August 2011, I worked at Knight Frank, Shanghai. While working at the company I was given the opportunity to work as an intern in the BD team. As an intern, my main responsibilities were to assist the director of global company consumers in the market in Shanghai, to build a consumer list and to analyze data from previous projects in order to make new timelines for new projects. When performing these tasks at the company, I was able to work both as a team leader and a team player. At the Knight Frank Company I was able to work as part of a team whose main function was to support the director of global company consumers. This is because being a multinational ccompany, the amount of work it required to coordinate consumer needs meant that there had to be a huge amount of team coordination and cooperation. During the period I worked with the support team of the director of global company consumer, I was able to interact with a number of people and work under high pressu re situations. I was able to learn that I am a good team player and am also able to work under a lot of pressure. I was also given the opportunity to prepare a consumer list for the global Knight Frank Company. This gave me the opportunity to work as a team leader as I was in charge of ensuring that the list was accurate for the Human Resource Manager. I also learnt to take specific instructions and to interpret them in the proper manner. I was also involved in making new timelines for new projects. This was a major responsibility on my part and it enabled me to coordinate a number of team members in order to allocate the proper timelines for every team project. My experience at Knight Frank Shanghai was very productive and it taught me a lot about being able to take instructions from my superiors as well as rising to the challenge of leadership. This is because as an intern I was able to adapt to different tasks and managers that I was assigned to. I was also part of a very successful team at the EFG Bank in Shanghai where I worked as a personal financial assistant between June and August 2010. My role in the bank was varied as I was assigned to various tasks within the organization, all of which I had to work under the supervision of a manager and also as part of a team. I assisted in designing fliers for some of the banks products which became very successful and helped to market the products. While in the bank, I also took part in various team building exercises which helped in strengthening team spirit. Having had CSI membership in the American Red Cross Association, I have also been given numerous opportunities to work as a team leader and as a team member. I have on many occasions assisted members of my cohort to win various medals. The fact that I have been involved in many teams and worked as a team leader I have acquired the requisite skills to be able to participate in the team activities both academic and extracurricular at the MMS program at the Duke University. I would be very pleased to be part of the distinguished class of MMS students at the Duke University. I believe the MMS program will equip me fully for my future responsibilities especially as an economist. Buy custom Application Essays for Duke Fuqua essay

Pastoralism and the Development of Civilization

Pastoralism and the Development of Civilization Pastoralism refers to a stage in the development of civilization between hunting and agriculture and also to a way of life dependent on the herding of livestock, specifically, ungulates. The Steppes and the Near and Middle East are particularly associated with pastoralism, although mountainous regions and areas too cold for farming can also support pastoralism.  In the Steppes near Kiev, where the wild horse roamed, pastoralists used their knowledge of cattle herding to domesticate the horse. Lifestyle Pastoralists focus on raising livestock and tend to the care and use of animals such as camels, goats, cattle, yaks, llamas and sheep.  Animal species vary depending on where pastoralists live in the world; typically they are domesticated herbivores that eat plant foods. The two main lifestyles of pastoralism include nomadism and transhumance. The nomads practice a seasonal migratory pattern that changes annually, while transhumance pastoralists use a pattern to cool highland valleys in summer and warmer ones during the cold wintertime. Nomadism This form of subsistence agriculture, also known as farming to eat, is based on herding domesticated animals. Instead of depending on crops to survive, pastoral nomads primarily depend on animals that provide milk, clothing and tents.   Some key characteristics of pastoral nomads include: Pastoral nomads typically do not slaughter their animals but already dead ones may be used for food.Power and prestige are often symbolized by this cultures herd size. The type and number of animals are chosen in relation to local characteristics, such as climate and vegetation. Transhumance The movement of livestock for water and food encompasses transhumance. The core differentiator in regards to nomadism is that herders who are leading the flock must leave their family behind.  Their lifestyle is in harmony with nature, developing groups of people with the worlds ecosystem, embedding themselves in their environment and biodiversity. The main places you can find transhumance include Mediterranean locations such as Greece, Lebanon, and Turkey. Modern Pastoralism Today, most pastoralists live in Mongolia, parts of Central Asia and East African locations. Pastoral societies include groups of pastoralists who center their daily life around pastoralism through the tending of herds or flocks.  The benefits of pastoralism include flexibility, low costs and freedom of movement. Pastoralism has survived due to additional features including light regulatory environment and their work in regions that are not suited for agriculture. Quick Facts Over 22 million Africans depend on pastoralists for their livelihood today, in communities such as the Bedouins, Berbers, Somali and Turkana. There are over 300,000 cattle herders in Southern Kenya and 150,000 in Tanzania.Pastoralism societies can be drawn back to the time period 8500-6500 BC.Literary work involving shepherds and rustic life is known as pastoral which comes from the term pastor, Latin for a shepherd. Discussion - Coursework Example Staffing is a major factor hindering the research utilization and evidence-based practice in my workplace. It is very difficult for an individual to implement EBP on their own rather there is need of teamwork and consultations. With the limited number of staff, it, therefore, makes the process difficult, as there is limited time and an increased workload for research and EBP utilization. Another factor that hinders the adoption of research utilization and evidence-based practice is the unavailability of the necessary resources and support at the workplace. Moreover, there is a poor culture and leadership in EBP adoption making the process quite challenging to achieve. In attainment of the appropriate culture, it is crucial for the organization to hire professionals who support and demonstrate commitment to the process, as health care practitioners who have a commitment to research and EBP utilization are able to achieve excellent patients care (MacDougall & Riley, 2010). It is also e ssential for the organization to recognize individuals participating in research and EBP to provide a clear message on the importance of the practice in the workplace. The impact of the Federal Reserve on the elections in 1992 Term Paper

The impact of the Federal Reserve on the elections in 1992 - Term Paper Example This led Federal Reserve board to make small reduction on short term interest rates, 1 perhaps with the confidence that such reduction was to be mild and brief. According to an News Times report, FED trimmed Federal Fund rates that banks charge one another for overnight loans from 6% to 5.75%, with the discount rate ,which Fed levies on banks for short term loans remaining constant at 5.25%.1However, the effects of interest rates are usually not realized immediately, and take time to be felt in the market.2 The delayed actions by Fed in lowering interests rates were therefore not realized immediately upon the interest cuts; recession was increasing rapidly, and as people have increasing hope in the policies of an opponent in such cases, Clinton’s economic policy in 1992 election were magnified by Fed delayed actions, with studies portraying the electorate as preferring Clinton to Bush. 3There have been discussions on the effectiveness of this intervention in the market by Fed in 1992, where many analysts have termed the intervention as too late and too little in terms of stimulating the economy; with many analysts arguing the interve ntion resulted to increasing inflationary rates in the economy as long term interest rates remained persistent.3 Despite reduced interest rates to encourage borrowing, fed interference in the economic dynamics resulted to increased inflationary rates, which were evidence after the elections. To deal with growing public spending deficit, the top marginal income tax rate was raised from 31% in 1992 to 39.6% in 1993, which was similar to a 42.55 increase when Medicare tax hikes were included. 4This was proved by the economic growth that was recorded at 4.3% annually in the last quarter of 1992, but dropped to 1.7% annual rate in first quarter of 1993. 4 This reduced growth was a result of long term interest rates that continued to haunt the economy; the high interest rates were shelved in 1992 when they were

Ezekiel Essay example -- essays research papers

Ezekiel meaning the strength of God, is one of the four greater prophets in the Old Testament. Ezekiel was the son of a priest named Buzi. Not much is known about Ezekiel’s childhood; much more is know after the age of twenty-five. Ezekiel was taken captive in the captivity of Jehoiachin, about eleven years before the destruction of Jerusalem. He was one of the many members of a community of Jewish people who settled on the banks of the Chebar, a river of Babylon. Ezekiel began prophesying in 595 B.C, and finished prophesying in 573 B.C. Ezekiel prophesied for a period that lasted about twenty-two years. Ezekiel was a married man but little else is known about his family life, he also had a house in his place of exile. His wife died a sudden death during the siege of Jerusalem. He lived among the top of his companions in exile, and their elders consulted with him on all matters. Ezekiel lived in a time of international crisis and conflict. Assyria was the world power in the area under the rule of Tiglath-pilesar III. In 724 B.C Israel raged war upon Assyria, and Israel was no match for Assyria. In 627 B.C the last of the able Assyrian ruler, Ashurbanipal died. Right after the death of Ashurbanipal, Babylon under Nabopolassar wanted independence from Assyria. In 612 B.C the Assyrians under Nineveh surrendered to the rising Babylonians. In 605 B.C the Babylonians were at war against the Egyptians. The Babylonians won and they established themselves as the leading power in the area. During all of this Judea allied with the Babylonians and with this Judea kept her independence. During the last century before Judea was destroyed it was ruled by four rulers and of those rulers, all but Josiah were wicked. Josiah was committed to God and led Judea to him. All the others did not heed the warnings of Ezekiel and Jeremiah from God, and the rulers of Judea chose to reb el against God. God punished Judea by sending Nebuchadnezzar’s army to crush the nation of Judea and flatten the city of Jerusalem. God appeared first to Ezekiel in a storm cloud; God was seated on a throne surrounded by cherubim. He commanded Ezekiel to go to an â€Å"impudent children and stiffhearted† and He gave Ezekiel a scroll to eat, showing Ezekiel complete identification with God’s Word. After Ezekiel returned to the people in Tel-Abib, God spoke to Ezekiel again, telling Ezekiel to be a â€Å"watchma... ...all the people Ezekiel was strange but God did not believed, In God’s eyes, Ezekiel was truthful, forgiving, obedient, and had endurance. He was dependable, patience, faithful, and tolerant. Ezekiel was truthful in all that he spoke because all of his words were from God. Ezekiel was forgiving and tolerant of God when God decided to take Ezekiel’s wife away to make a point. Ezekiel was very obedient as he obeyed God’s every single command including not mourning when his wife died. God gave Ezekiel lots of endurance because he prophetized for over twenty-two years. With his endurance, showed he was always dependable and faithful. All God needed to do was tell Ezekiel what to say or do, and Ezekiel would complete the task without complaint. Ezekiel was very patient even though God did not allow him to speak for seven and a half years and he complied with that. Ezekiel’s death is unknown, but an ancient Jewish tradition states that Ezekiel was killed by his own people because of his preaching. Ezekiel’s body is believed to be buried on the banks of the Euphrates, in the modern-day city of Kifl, just south of the ancient city Babylon. The tomb is said to have built by Jehoiachin.

The Light Bulb: One of the Most Useful Inventions in the World

People need light to be able to see. In the morning, there is sunlight. But in the night, people use electric light made from light bulbs. Without light bulbs, people would not be able to see and would have to rely on their other senses to do tasks. Without light bulbs, our lives would be very different. The light bulb is a very useful invention that people all over the world use every day. The creation of the light bulb can be traced back to the 19th century. In 1800, Humphrey Davy made the arc lamp (â€Å"Lighting†). But the arc lamp was very dangerous because light was made by sparks, increasing the chance of fire (Burnie 52). In 1860, Joseph Swan made an incandescent light bulb. But the light bulb had many disadvantages. The light bulb burned out in an hour and it cost a lot of money (Burnie 52). Also, the filament was made of pure carbon, so when the carbon burnt, it filed the bulb with soot (â€Å"Lighting†). Then in 1879, Thomas Edison made a better incandescent (a term for heat-driven light emissions) light bulb. Time News reported, â€Å"Thomas Edison is the creator of the first commercially viable light bulb. † His incandescent light bulb was efficient, affordable, and safe (Fletcher). It took Edison years to make an incandescent light bulb. First he used a platinum filament and used a vacuum pump to reduce the oxygen level in the bulb, so it would be harder for a fire to start (Mintz 83). Later, he coated the filament with magnesium. He tested the bulb. Its electrical resistance was only 3 ohms, meaning that it doesn’t glow brightly. But it did glow for 13 hours and 38 minutes, proving it’s possible to keep a filament lit for long periods of time. Then he decided to use carbon because it was cheap and had a high melting point (Mintz 86). He used a fat piece of carbon, but its electrical resistance was only 2 ohms (Mintz 88). Then he made the piece thinner and longer, so the electrical resistance increased to 113 ohms (Mintz 89). Mintz said, â€Å"For example, if the same amount of water was put in a straw and a big water pipe, the pressure of the water in the straw would be a lot more† (90). Electrical resistance works the same way. Because he made the filament smaller, its electrical resistance increased, but it burned out in a few seconds. Finally, he made a filament that gave the best results. He used a piece of carbon, boiled in sugar and alcohol, and then baked in an over. Its electrical resistance was 107 ohms and it lasted 170 hours. Thomas Edison wrote in his diary, â€Å"My light is perfected† (Mintz 90). Thomas Edison created an incandescent light bulb, but now there are many others. One of them is a standard light bulb. It is an incandescent light bulb with 20 inches of filament made by tungsten (a metal discovered in 1912) surrounded by gases. It makes yellow-white light, but its efficiency is only 8%, meaning that only 8% of the electricity input is used to make light. The other 92% is used as heat or is passed to the other end of the filament. A daylight bulb is an incandescent light bulb, but is made to give the color and feel of daylight. It is made of many colors (Burnie 53). A fluorescent bulb works by passing current through a tube, producing ultraviolet radiation. The radiation hits the phosphorous coating, making light through chemical process. The bulb lasts about 10,000 hours. There is also a compact fluorescent bulb. They work like normal fluorescent bulbs, but are smaller and screw into sockets like incandescent light bulbs. Compact fluorescent bulbs also last about 10,000 hours (Kremer). Another type of bulb is low-pressure sodium lamp. It contains a little sodium, so it takes a few minutes to light up. The light it makes is almost pure yellow. A high-pressure sodium lamp contains sodium and aluminum. It makes pink-blue light. It is very efficient (Burnie 53). Another type of light is LED (light emitting diode). Compared to all the other types of light bulbs, LEDs are very unique and different. They have no filament, have a long life span, produce no heat, are very efficient, and one bulb is less than an inch long and about a centimeter wide. Unfortunately, they are very expensive. For under-the-cabinet lighting in a kitchen, one strip of it costs about $100 (Kremer). Overall, there are many different light bulbs now, and more will be invented in the future. There are many different light bulbs for different uses. Each light bulb can be used in at least one way or another. For example, daylight bulbs are used inside of buildings (Burnie 53). So are incandescent bulbs, fluorescent, compact fluorescent, and LED (Kremer). Low-pressure and high-pressure sodium lamps are used outside. More specifically, low-pressure sodium lamps are used in less populated areas, such as driveways. High-pressure sodium lamps are used in more populated ideas, such as streets. Incandescent bulbs, compact fluorescent, and LED bulbs are used in appliances and household objects, such as microwaves, flashlights, and cars (Burnie 53). All these bulbs help us see. Bulbs used inside buildings help us find objects in the night. Street lights make it safer to go bike riding, walk, or drive a car outside when it is dark. Bulbs used in household objects and appliances help us in many ways. For example, the bulb inside a refrigerator enables us to see food. The light in a flashlight helps us see in places where there is no light. All in all, light bulbs have many uses. The invention of the light bulb is very useful and everyone uses it. Without the light bulb, our lives would be very different. We would either have to use candles and risk the chance of fire, or not use candles and not be able to see at all in the night. I think that light bulbs help us every day, day and night, and are less dangerous than fire and candles.

The Basis for Cridme Deterren ce in the United States

The basis for crime deterrence in the United States is based on the exacting words of Beccaria, â€Å"†¦ a punishment†¦ should be public, immediate, and necessary, the least possible in the case given, proportioned to the crime, and determined by the laws. While this philosophy fulfills its intended goals, it also comes with far reaching consequences for criminal offenders and completely ignores the true goal of incarceration, to rehabilitate the offender for reintroduction into society. Mass incarceration as a means of criminal rehabilitation in the United States is extremely flawed. There are many far-reaching consequences of this practice that not only affects the incarcerated but larger society on a whole. The phrase mass incarceration, according to Oxford Encyclopedia, refers to â€Å"comparatively and historically extreme rates of imprisonment in which the concentration of imprisonment is among young, African American men living in neighborhoods of concentrated disa dvantage.† The United States has a population of about 313.9 million people, which is about 4% of the world’s population. Despite this small percentage of the world’s population, the United States accounts for 25% of the world’s incarcerated population (2.2 million Americans are in prison or jail) and this number has increased 300% since 1984. Statistics compiled by the Vlog Brothers show that 41% of young adults and juveniles will be arrested by the age of 23 and that children as young as 13 years of age have been
